Big Fun was BIG Success for Little Bit Foundation

The excitement was hard to ignore and the energy was contagious as guests stepped off of the elevator at Mandarin Lounge on Saturday, July 10. Over 200 guests were met by enthusiastic volunteers selling raffle tickets for everything from Cardinals prize packages to a mountain bike and an LCD television. As the lively music wafted out to the rooftop patio, bartenders served up a variety of drinks while event attendees snacked on fabulous appetizers – everything from sun-dried tomato bruschetta and fruit fromage to finger sandwiches courtesy of Russo’s.
The efforts of event co-chairs Jamie Hagedorn and Megan Hudson, along with their steering committee and corporate sponsors Talx, Green Guys Landscaping/Paper Frosting, Power Motion, Purina Cat Chow, Gateway Gastroenterology, Suntrup Automotive Group, Carmody MacDonald, The SideBar and Mandarin, raised more than $14,000. Young Friends Board member and steering committee member Kyle Banahan remarked, “Everyone did their part and truly made the event stress free. The Little Bit Foundation’s efforts have tangible and local results, which make the charity all the more personal, yet extraordinary.”
Posters around the venue, and more importantly, committed volunteers, advertised The Little Bit Foundation’s mission and the cause was consistently promoted throughout the night. Friends of TLBF mingled with volunteers and committee members while enjoying a picturesque night on the outdoor rooftop patio.
The money raised during the evening tripled last year’s total and set the bar quite high for the 2011 event! Co-chair Jamie Hagedorn was quite impressed with the effort, saying, “[We] were astonished at the turnout. We can’t thank the sponsors, the committee and the volunteers enough for allowing us to continue on their great work.”
The Little Bit Foundation would like to offer a special thank you to its Board of Directors, volunteers and donors for their continued support, without which Big Fun would not be possible.
