Dear friends at The Little Bit Foundation,

Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity in your work with the De La Salle Middle School community.  Your numerous donations of school supplies have allowed the school to cut spending.  Further, Little Bit-donated toiletries like deodorant, toothpaste, combs, lotion and soap come in handy throughout the year.  Students whose belts have broken or have been misplaced can find a replacement in the variety of belts that you donated.  I remember students’ faces lighting up when they saw the new shoes, coats, hats, and gloves you had brought.  You took the time to assure that each student had the right fit, and the students noticed and appreciate your care.  When you brought the CBC athletic shirts, pullovers, etc., students asked for the chance to wear a shirt that said “CBC.”  Students in need who had performed some form of community service at school received these items.

Unlike other charitable organizations, you take the time to assess the specific needs of the student population at our school before making deliveries.  In my experience, the Little Bit Foundation is unique in that the volunteers match the donated goods with a stated need.  We polled students who lacked adequate winter clothing, and we faxed a quick “wish list” of winter items - including hats, gloves, jackets, et al - for each student.  Further, the Little Bit Foundation can make adjustments to delivered items if we request a change.  For example, a couple students needed a different shoe size, and one student requested a different sized jacket.  Within a week or so, the volunteers from the Little Bit Foundation exchanged the items to the students’ satisfaction. I know of no other charitable group that runs a program in a way that is as responsive to our students’ specific areas of need.

Your nurturing presence is always welcome, and we value your gifts to our students, especially during the winter months.  Your positive impact on our community is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Phil Pusateri,  Principal
